Krav Maga is a self defense style that completely dispenses witih traditions and focuses purely on training and the self defense on the street.

  Krav Maga practitioners are always encouraged to use an obvious, simple and therefore effective solution.

Was ist Krav Maga?


KRAV MAGA - Alexander Meyer

Krav Maga means "close combat" and is a self-defense system originally developed for the Israeli army. The Israeli soldiers needed to be trained, but did not have time to spend years learning a martial art. Therefore, the most efficient techniques from different martial arts styles were taken and merged so that people could defend themselves as quickly as possible.

Krav Maga has long been used not only by soldiers, but in recent years conquered the world with the quickly learned and effective self-defense system.

What is the difference between Krav Maga and martial arts?

Well, there are a few. In martial arts, you know long in advance when the next fight will be. You know your opponent and can prepare yourself physically as well as mentally for months. In the ring there are certain rules, you have only one opponent and the referee can stop the fight at any time if necessary.

All these principles do not exist on the street. In Krav Maga there are no rules, and you learn to react in a flash and defend yourself. You learn boxing and kicking techniques, ground fighting, defense against choke attacks, defense against multiple opponents, the most sensitive parts of the body, defense against stick and knife attacks, etc.

Besides the technical training, the physical training is not neglected. Because a confrontation on the street can demand a lot from you physically and require stamina.

Krav Maga is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to engage in meaningful physical activity. With regular training you will improve your physical condition, your mental and emotional strength and you will learn to defend yourself in case of emergency.




Previous experience in martial arts is an advantage, but not at all mandatory.

My goal is to have a well-mixed group in which everyone feels comfortable. And besides the intensive training there should be a positive and humorous atmosphere.

It is suitable for all genders and all ages.

Below you will find our training times:

Monday 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Krav Maga

Monday 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Kick & Box training

Thursday 19:00 – 20:00: Krav Maga

Thursday 20:00 – 21:00 Krav Maga Advanced

In one hour, you cannot train all existing Krav Maga techniques. Therefore, the focus is always on 2-3 techniques, which are then combined into a complete attack. Mostly we train in groups of 2. In addition to the technical training, there are always fitness units to build

up strength and increase stamina.


The kick & box training

The kick & box training focuses on basic punches and kicks as well as effective combinations. If you have the opportunity for a counterattack during a fight, you must react immediately. Otherwise, you may miss the opportunity and must defend yourself again. Therefore, it is important that the punches and kicks sit, can be executed quickly and you can combine the different techniques out of reflex. Advanced students can spar in boxing or kickboxing (light contact fighting 1:1).

advanced training

as the name suggests, is open to advanced students. Here we train with a helmet and a vest. It is not about hitting as hard as possible, but it allows you to train at a real pace. What if someone comes at you at full speed and you don't know how the person is going to attack? Do the techniques already sit? Are you fast enough? In this training you will be able to experience and perfect that.

Martial arts have fascinated me since I was a kid. Growing up with Andy Hug & the movies of Jean Claude Van Damme, I wanted to emulate my idols and started early with Kyokushin Karate, which I trained for eight years.

At the age of 18 I wanted to learn something new and started boxing training. I liked it very much. But when I was mugged during a language study trip, I realized that martial arts are not always enough.

I realized that on the street there are no rules, and you must behave very differently than in the ring with rules and a referee. So, I was looking for a system that is as diverse as possible and in which you also learn how to defend yourself against multiple attackers or weapons.

That's how I came to Krav Maga and this self-defense system immediately ignited my passion, which I still carry with me in every training session.

In 2017, I was awarded was "Krav Maga Self Protect Instructor"  with diploma.

In 2019, the diploma as "Krav Maga Self Protect Advanced Instructor" followed.

And since 2021 I am Head Instructor in Zurich of the Krav Maga Self Defense School.
